5 Fun, Educational, and Healthy Things You Can Do to Keep Yourself Busy and Happy During Quarantine

Hello friends! Are you bored during social distancing? Are you looking for fun and productive things you can do to help keep yourself feeling productive and happy?

Here are 5 fun, educational, and healthy things you can do to keep yourself busy and even payoff in the long run!

Staying in can be just as fun and productive as going out, with these great tips that I’m gonna share with you, you’ll be able to keep boredom at bay during the lock down. From learning new skills to embracing your inner DIY guru, I’ve got you covered!;)

  1. Clear out your closets

Having extra time on your hands can be the perfect opportunity to tackle some home projects, plus, like I always say: “You can’t bring in the new until you clear some space for it by removing the old!” Use some vacuum storage bags and boxes to declutter your home. Look through your things, especially your closets, and giveaway or repurpose what you are not currently needing or liking anymore. You can donate items you haven’t worn for six months and organize your things into sections so it’s easier to find them. A great Rule of Thumb is if you haven’t either worn or used it within the last 2 years OR if you don’t LOVE it then toss it! 😉 This is also a great opportunity to get inspired by new outfits or rediscover an old favorite that you probably forgot you even had.

  1. Start a podcast

Obsessed with podcasts? Do you have something interesting or entertaining to share with an audience? Maybe it’s time you look into making a business out of podcasting yourself. Read a book about podcasting for beginners, and get yourself set-up for success and watch your enthusiasm for life and creativity fly!

  1. Use Legos

Celebs all over have been killing time in coronavirus lockdown by building Lego sculptures. Lego is perfect for keeping your mind busy and you get the ta-da moment of success and accomplishment at the end of it. Train your brain and stay busy with this fun activity!

  1. Puzzles for adults

Take your eyes off your screen for a day (or at least a couple of hours!) while you tackle a fun 1000-piece puzzle. Amazon has plenty to choose from and stocks puzzles for all ages and you can make some really cool stuff. And be sure to include your kids too. My 6-year old niece and I love doing puzzles together out on my back deck in the sunshine while playing fun music. It’s great for both of us, mind, body and soul and is so fulfilling once we see the final product of what we did together!

  1. Make a photo album/back up your phone pictures

This is so cool and sure to become a treasured keep-sake! You can use a scrapbook and get super artsy as you relive old memories! Remember that girls’ holiday you took in 2016 or when you swam with dolphins? Ensure that memories like this are treasured by taking the time to compile a photo album or scrapbook that you can have the pleasure of feeling again AND sharing with others. Similarly, make a back-up of photos on your phone, to ensure you don’t lose them in years to come.

If you decide to try any of these fun activities, share it with our community and tag me at @fitamytv. I love to see what you’re up to!:)

Enjoy!
