Welcome to my June Favorite Products!

I’m always on the lookout for new and effective resources and ways to enhance the quality of my life and make it just a little bit, better, easier, more fulfilling or more fun, and each month I share the top three with you!

By now you know I am a BIG proponent of getting the basics down first: like ensuring you are eating high-quality, real food, getting daily natural sunlight, fresh air, clear water, adequate and sound sleep, etc… but sometimes I come across a supplement that is worth not only investigating but also including in my healthy regime. Glutathione is one of them!

Glutathione is the major detoxification molecule found in every cell of the body and is an important part of the antioxidant system of the body. In fact it’s key in ensuring normal detoxification in the liver and normal cell growth.

Remember: the more stress  you have, the better your body systems have to work on all levels so it can keep up with you and keep you healthy and not fall victim to illnesses, disease, viruses or even just pre-mature aging!

I take one pill a day in the morning.

YUM! One of my students turned me on to this wonderful little gem due to our mutual love of chocolate and healthy baking, and what a find it is!

There is only one ingredient in this product – 100% cacao chocolate chips but the cocoa beans in this chocolate come from 4 different regions within Peru in the foothills of the Andes leading down to the Amazon Basin.  The beans there are characteristically light and mild – known as “fine aroma” beans.

Honestly, they’re great right from the bag, but ideal in any recipe that brings in sweetness from somewhere else – like my homemade sugar-free dark chocolate!


My Personal Journal

I’ve learned that having healthy, yet simple habits that you practice routinely – EVERY DAY – can be life-changing and powerfully transformative. The key is to make them more like a “ritual” in that you perform them with presence, awareness and respect, or reverence, rather than out of “obligation”, because you think you have to, or should  or in a rushed, distracted, half-hearted manner.

Daily journaling is one of those practices, or rituals, that I have been doing for some time now and I’ve started to realize the subtle yet powerful effects it has had on my emotional and mental health.

It’s really nothing fancy or time-consuming but it’s part of my morning routine where I just write down my thoughts, issues, reactions, problems, symptoms, etc. from the day before. Often by doing so I will get insights or memories or flashes of inspiration or ideas. Sometimes it triggers a dream-recall or other deeper sub-conscious awakening – and wow, that’s where things get really interesting!

Main thing is it’s really a powerful self-awareness tool, and as you’ve heard me say, self-awareness and knowledge is the KEY to being healthy, fit and in your power!

Plus research shows journaling helps reduce anxiety, boosts memory and comprehension, improves cognitive processing and mood. So grab a pen and give it a try – and let me know how it goes for you! 🙂
