So today I woke up late because of a long day and working late last night.
In my dazed fog, when I suddenly realized what time it was I immediately jumped out of bed and started rushing around my apartment to get out the door to get to a very important class I was planning on attending.
No such luck.
As I sat at a stop light it occurred to me I’d never make it.
At first I was really upset. Pissed actually. Then I took a deep breath, calmed myself down, accepted the situation and surrendered to it. I closed my eyes and went into my heart and made the decision to just go with the flow and be open to something new to happen. That perhaps life had something else in mind for me today (which was different from my plan!).
What happened?
I decided to go to a local yoga class and O – M -G! Took me a while to calm down (I will admit) but soon I felt like I had returned home!
I am not currently teaching yoga on my schedule but might have to add it back. All the memories of how wonderfully balancing, calming and healing it is came flooding back to me. My achy back, hips and shoulders released all the tension from all my overworking, Type- A, nutzo personality. I swear I actually felt my body “THANK ME”!
LESSON LEARNED:
Missing the class was a blessing in disguise.
By doing so life gave me a gift and gentle reminder of what I really needed. But the key was I had to allow it in. Best part of all? I ACTUALLY DID A HEADSTAND AT THE YOGA CLASS THAT DAY WHICH I’VE NEVER DONE BEFORE (with the help of the teacher of course)!
Outstanding! Thank you life 🙂
So my question for you is: Has anything like this ever happened to you? …a blessing in disguise? Post a comment below and let’s share! 🙂
