Reformed People-Pleasers UNITE! :)

Speaking as a Reformed People-Pleaser, I can say that one of the biggest lessons of my life has been learning to be OK with being “unliked” or not approved of, or talked about behind my back. More times than I’d like to admit, this has resulted in my retracting, shrinking, or otherwise playing small and my spirit and sense of self has suffered because of it.

It’s not a fun or easy journey to learn how to remain emotionally intact after receiving disapproval or criticism, particularly if it’s inaccurate, unfounded or even due to anther’s own insecurities, jealousy or issues- but it’s definitely a necessary ability to acquire in order to be true to yourself and all you’re meant to be.

Yes, it requires bravery and risk but it also requires a strong self-concept and love and TRUST in yourself. I believe that we are all here to express our unique gifts to the world and the happiest people are those that ARE.
