Top 10 Tips for Leveling Up Your Mind Game

Do you ever feel like you’re just spinning your wheels? Or you sometimes get results but they don’t last very long? Or you find yourself thinking: “Is it supposed to be this hard all the time?”

Or maybe you even feel downright miserable, sick of feeling deprived, unfulfilled and ready to give up?!

You are not alone.

If there’s one thing I’m passionate about it’s this: Physical Fitness goes hand-in-hand with Emotional Fitness. You cannot have one without the other. Period.

You see, you can do all the “right” things: Follow the most balanced and sound workout program, commit to the healthiest diet, and even appear to have the “perfect” life on the outside with the body, house, car, job, kids…or whatever…but until you get your mind right and address your Emotional Fitness needs, superior health and vitality will always elude you.

Over my career, I’ve learned that we can’t truly enjoy any of our achievements or accomplishments, and have a sense of rest and peace in our hearts until we first do these two critical things:

  1. Establish a clear sense of who you are, what’s important to you and what you need – without all of the societal programming, judgements, expectations, and people-pleasing
  2. Align your mind with your emotions, feelings, and beliefs, and your body, energy, and spirit.

1. Know who you are and stand firm in it.
2. Know your values, what’s really important to you and live by it.
3. Look under the covers and understand what’s driving you and your behavior.
4. Establish healthy personal boundaries and uphold them.
5. Be aware of and question your beliefs and assumptions as to what you think of as “true”.
6. Remember: What you focus on grows. So focus on what you want MORE of in your life.
7. Rather than judging your emotions, feel them to learn about yourself and your needs and to let them move thru you so they don’t get stuck or repressed.
8. Monitor your self-talk and never criticize or berate yourself.
9. Be your own Best Friend or Coach.
10. Give yourself the love you need and say to yourself the things you long to hear.
